More than 70% of Japanese tea is made by this cultivar.  In all major tea production regions, yabukita is the most cultivated.
It was developed from a native variety tea tree grown in the north of bosh in the experimental tea field in Shizuoka prefecture.  If you have seen tea tree pictures with clear veins, that is yabukita.
Gentle aroma.  Great balance of umami, bitterness, and astringency.  Forest green watercolor.  Excelled in all tea types.
