Tencha is the leaf from which matcha is made, and the leaves are small flakes. Since the tea is shade grown, it has a dark green color and a lot of umami flavor remains in the tea leaves.
The flat part of the leaf tastes different from the vein part.

This tea is made from overlapping Tencha leaves. Tencha leaves are thin like flakes, but if they overlap, the tea farmers cannot grind the leaves well with a mill to make a matcha powder. So they are taken out. The tea leaves taken out have a lot of umami and taste like refined Uji gyokuro. Please brew it in the same way as gyokuro and enjoy.

This tea is the vein part of Tencha leaves, and is characterized by its light taste and pale watercolor. We recommend this tea for those who do not like the astringent and bitter taste of Japanese teas. Catechin content is low, so you will hardly notice any astringency or bitterness even if you brew it with hot water. A 120g(4.23oz) value pack. How about adding it to your daily tea?
