The nice thing about loose leaf teas is that you can choose your favorite amount to brew your teas.  Loose leaf tea is a good buy.  And you can   experiment with different quantities to decide what level suits you.

If the tea leaves include powder or crushed leaves, we recommend to brewing at a shorter time.

If the tea leaf colors are yellowish green, it may be deeper steamed than standard.  Then you can brew the tea with shorter time, too.

If the tea leaves are hard and tight, you may take a longer time at a higher water temperature to brew.

If you want to brew only one cup, we recommend to use little more tea leaves (4-5g/0.14-0.18 oz).  This way, you can also enjoy the 2nd and 3rd infusions.
