Gyokuro products are premium teas in Japan. And we drink in small amounts. The tea produces a unique aroma by utilizing a leaf-covering cultivation method. This method maintains a strong umami: sweet, mild, rich, and a slightly astringent taste. Gyokuro products go through the similar manufacturing process as Sencha, so the leaf shape is also like a needle. The tea has more amino acids, more caffeine, and less catechin than Sencha. Please take time to brew at a lower temperature. And more umami and caffeine are created in the second and third infusions. Moreover, you can enjoy eating the used Gyokuro leaves with lightly salted or ponzu sauce. Gyokuro tea leaves contain more chlorophyll than Sencha. Please enjoy them all!
